About the Eastern Region Branch

Welcome to the ADASS Eastern Regional Branch

The Eastern Branch of ADASS covers five County Councils (Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk) and seven Unitary Authorities (Bedford, Central Bedfordshire, Luton, Milton Keynes, Peterborough, Southend, and Thurrock). The Directors of Adult Social Services (variously named) or their nominated representative meet four times a year for “Branch Meetings”. Between quarterly meetings Directors convene quarterly for Regional Improvement Board meetings (to which wider partners including CQC, LGA, EELGA, and NHSConfed are also invited), and ad hoc branch calls or virtual meetings to maintain contact on key issues as they develop. Portfolio Holders / Lead Members for Health and Care are invited to join Branch once a year, and ADPH and ADCS Regional Colleagues have also previously been invited to attend joint meetings.

ADASS Eastern Branch supports and provides leadership for Adult Social Care and wider partnership delivery across the East of England, and has final oversight of the Regional Assurance, Sector Led Improvement, and Regional Improvement Programmes. It offers a supportive forum for sharing intelligence and good practice, for critical challenge and mutual assurance, and a collegiate approach to problem solving at a senior level.
