About Finance
Welcome to the Finance Network
The finance network holds four formal meetings a year along with touchpoint meetings at more challenging times.
The work undertaken includes; understanding and presenting the regional financial impact of legislative changes, ensuring a consistent regional/ national approach to financial returns (where appropriate); regional interpretation and presentation of national finance announcements including the Spending Review, Grants and Better Care Fund; annual review of regional budget proposals and potential regional impact and collation/presentation of the regions response to key financial returns including Annual Budget Survey.
We influence where possible DHSC/MHCLG ASC – to help shape/inform/lobby on guidance and funding matters; we ensure Inter-relationship with other regional networks; we collate, analyse and compare Quarterly Regional Financial Position reported (from 2021/22 financial year) using the Regional Balance Scorecard and Use of Resources data.
We hold an Annual Regional Use of Resources Workshop with National Care and Improvement Advisor Finance and Risks and undertake Regional impact assessment of judicial reviews relating to ASC as well as most recently collaborating on COVID Financial Recovery implications and opportunities.
